YENNY FARÍAS
Songwriter and performer, she has always been accompanied by a profound love for music, her guitar, and her singing. She crafts her own songs while also interpreting pieces from the rich tapestry of popular music.
She resurrects rhythms and melodies from Latin American music, blending roots, soul, funk, rock, and blues, employing modern instruments alongside those characteristic of Latin American musical traditions.
"I find joy in singing about everything—life, the soul, family, love, nature, friends, positive vibes. I feel delighted and honored to share my singing, love, and respect for Mother Earth."
Since 2000, she began participating as a drummer in rock bands, which allowed her to build skills in various percussion instruments. Over the years, these skills have provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with bands and musicians, both in Chile and Canada. Having dedicated over 25 years to the world of sound and collaboration with fellow musicians, she has recently channeled her energy into her original music.
Residing in Canada since 2013, her musical journey began amidst the breathtaking Rocky Mountains in Banff, Alberta. Since 2017, she has permanently made Calgary her home.
"I've had the privilege to participate in various events such as Global Fest, Pro Art, Alberta Day, Heritage Day Festival, Folklore Fest, performances at the Margaret Greenham Theater, The Eric Harvie Theater, and Max Bell Auditorium at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Calgary Film Festival, Bella Concert Hall, Expo Latino (with the band Frontera Sur), and numerous other events organized by the Town of Banff and the Chilean and Latin American community in Calgary."
Notable roles include:
- 2025-Present: TURIYA-Part of the Medicine Music Band, based in Calgary, Canada, contributing as a drummer, percussionist, and vocalist.
- 2025 – Various collaborations with KELTEWE, Rod MacCormack, Bloco Vivo, The Om Shanties, contributing percussion, vocals, guitar, and drums.
- 2025, she participated as a collaborator in the recording of the album Samskaras by Canadian musician Rod MacCormack, contributing on drums.
- 2024: Has collaborated as a percussionist with the spiritual music band The Om Shanties (Aurora Soundbar, Bella Concert Hall, Lantern Church).
- 2023- 2024: Contributed as a percussionist for HYMM MELODIES, a multicultural band.
- 2017: Yenny Farías & The Blues, a band comprised of Canadian, Chilean, and Latin American musicians, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
- 2013 to 2016: Lead vocalist and guitarist for the multicultural band Origin in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

Compositora e intérprete, siempre ha estado acompañada por un profundo amor por la música, su guitarra y su voz. Crea sus propias canciones mientras también interpreta piezas de la rica tradición de la música popular.
Revive ritmos y melodías de la música latinoamericana, fusionando raíces, soul, funk, rock y blues, utilizando instrumentos modernos junto con aquellos característicos de las tradiciones musicales latinoamericanas.

Desde el año 2000, comenzó a participar como baterista en bandas de rock, lo que le permitió desarrollar habilidades en diversos instrumentos de percusión. Con el paso de los años, estas habilidades le han brindado la oportunidad de colaborar con bandas y músicos, tanto en Chile como en Canadá.
Después de más de 25 años dedicados al mundo del sonido y la colaboración con otros músicos, recientemente ha canalizado su energía hacia su música original. Residente en Canadá desde 2013, su viaje musical comenzó en medio de las impresionantes Montañas Rocosas en Banff, Alberta. Desde 2017, ha hecho de Calgary su hogar permanente.
