YENNY FARIAS

Songwriter and performer, she has always been accompanied by a profound love for music, her guitar, and her singing. She crafts her own songs while also interpreting pieces from the rich tapestry of popular music.

She skillfully resurrects rhythms and melodies from Latin American music, blending roots, soul, funk, rock, and blues, employing modern instruments alongside those characteristic of Latin American musical traditions.

"I find joy in singing about everything—life, the soul, family, love, nature, friends, positive vibes. I feel delighted and honored to share my singing, love, and respect for Mother Earth."

Having dedicated over 15 years to the world of sound and collaboration with fellow musicians, she has recently channeled her energy into her original music. Residing in Canada for a decade, her musical journey began amidst the breathtaking Rocky Mountains in Banff. Since 2017, she has permanently made Calgary her home.

"I've had the privilege to participate in various events such as Global Fest, Pro Art, Alberta Day,  Heritage Day Festival, Folklore Fest,performances at the Margaret Greenham Theater, The Eric Harvie Theater, and Max Bell Auditorium at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Calgary Film Festival, Expo Latino (with the band Frontera Sur), and numerous other events organized by the Town of Banff and the Chilean and Latin American community in Calgary."

Notable roles include being the lead vocalist and guitarist for the multicultural band Origin from 2013 to 2016, founding Yenny Farías & The Blues in 2017, a band comprised of Canadian musicians, Chileans, and Latin Americans. 

She also contributed as a percussionist for HYMM MELODIES, a multicultural band, since April 2023.

Currently, she is diligently working on her inaugural musical production scheduled for release in 2025.

Compositora e intérprete, Yenny Farías siempre ha estado inmersa en un profundo amor por la música, su guitarra y su voz. Crea sus propias canciones como interpreta piezas del vasto tapiz de la música popular.

Con habilidad, rescata ritmos y melodías de la música latinoamericana, fusionando raíces, soul, funk, rock y blues, utilizando tanto instrumentos modernos como aquellos característicos de las tradiciones musicales latinoamericanas.

"Me llena de alegría cantar sobre todo: la vida, el alma, la familia, el amor, la naturaleza, los amigos, las vibraciones positivas. Me siento encantada y honrada de compartir mi canto, mi amor y mi respeto por la Madre Tierra".

Tras más de 15 años dedicados al mundo del sonido y a la colaboración con otros músicos, recientemente ha focalizado su energía en su música original. Después de residir en Canadá durante una década, su travesía musical comenzó en las impresionantes Montañas Rocosas de Banff en el 2013.

 Desde 2017, ha hecho de Calgary su hogar permanente.
